Algebraic Geometry

Algebraic geometry studies geometric objects defined by polynomial equations — algebraic varieties, schemes, and stacks — combining algebraic, geometric, and topological methods to investigate their classification, birational geometry, cohomology theories, moduli spaces, and arithmetic properties. It is a central field of modern mathematics, deeply intertwined with number theory, representation theory, complex geometry, and mathematical physics.
