学术历史

The art history and theory discipline at the China Academy of Art traces its origins to the National Academy of Art established in 1928. Professor Fan Jingzhong spearheaded the translation of the Translations of Masterpieces in Art History series, systematically introducing Western art historical methodologies and profoundly influencing the development of Chinese art history as an academic discipline. Professor Cao Yiqiang has made significant contributions to the field of art historical methodology. In landscape painting history research, the academy has formed a unique scholarly tradition that places equal emphasis on theory and practice, in dialogue with the painting practices of masters such as Pan Tianshou and Huang Binhong.
