Our content focuses on objective facts, drawing on public rankings, faculty, publications, and career data. We distinguish overall reputation from strength in a specific field and do not treat university rankings as the only measure.
✦ Truth-Seeking
We do not invent unverified data; we use descriptive text instead. We clearly identify how current and certain information is. We welcome corrections, acknowledge mistakes, and are willing to fix them.
Scope
UNV focuses on academic content in the natural sciences, traditional classics, humanities, and arts. We do not include the following topics:
- Politically sensitive or ideologically divisive topics
- Topics involving ethnic disputes or historical territorial disputes
- Topics driven by advocacy rather than academic inquiry
Guiding principle: We include topics that are academic inquiries in themselves, such as mathematical conjectures, AI safety, and ink-wash painting techniques. We do not include topics centered on political positions or claims of ethnic justice.
