学术历史
Nanjing University of the Arts traces its origins to the Shanghai Art Academy founded by Liu Haisu in 1912, and was formally named Nanjing University of the Arts in 1959. Nanjing, as the ancient capital of six dynasties, is the birthplace of the Jinling painting school. Historically, Gong Xian and the Eight Masters of Jinling established a unique landscape painting tradition here. The Chinese painting department at NUA has been deeply influenced by Jinling culture. Fu Baoshi taught here and profoundly shaped the direction of landscape painting education, fostering a pedagogical tradition that equally emphasizes sketching from life and creative practice, blending traditional brushwork with a contemporary spirit.
